From Failing to Finding My Niche: My Journey to Success

From Failing to Finding My Niche: My Journey to Success

From Overwhelmed to Aligned: How I Finally Found My Direction

I’m currently in the middle of a life-changing transformation.

My motivation is higher than it’s ever been—and for the first time in a long time, I feel aligned. Not scattered. Not overwhelmed. Just clear.

But it didn’t start this way.

From Overwhelmed to Aligned

For years, I lived in a constant state of overwhelm.

I was chasing multiple streams of income, jumping between ideas, and putting pressure on myself to “figure it out” as quickly as possible. No matter how much I did, it always felt like I was behind.

Then something shifted.

I finished renovating my office and finally created a space that felt like mine. That one change lifted a mental weight I had been carrying for years.

Now, every time I walk into that room, I’m reminded:

I’m capable of more than I give myself credit for.

Not Every Dream Is Meant for You

At one point, I was convinced real estate was my future.

Flipping houses. Rental properties. Building something big.

I thought I had it all figured out - and I was definitely on to something, just not THE thing.

But after remodeling my office, I realized something quickly—I didn’t enjoy the process at all. I just wanted it to be over.

That experience gave me clarity:

Just because something is profitable doesn’t mean it’s right for you.

And chasing the wrong path will burn you out faster than doing nothing at all.

Years of Failure (That Actually Weren’t Failures)

I’ve been trying to find my niche since 2014.

And for a long time, nothing worked.

  • Blogging about toxins + selling products → failed
  • Selling crafts online → failed
  • Starting photography → no traction
  • Launching a brand too early → wasted money

At least, that’s how I saw it at the time.

But looking back, those weren’t failures—they were experiments.

Because eventually, something clicked.

I started selling online—and it worked. Slowly at first, then consistently. For the first time, I experienced real momentum.

That momentum changed everything.

When Everything Falls Apart… It Might Be Realignment

Going into 2020, I had a vision.

I had clarity, motivation, and a plan.

And then everything changed.

The world slowed down—and so did I.

At first, it felt like everything was falling apart. But in reality, it was creating space for something new.

And for a while, I used that space well.

Progress came fast. Ideas came faster. Opportunities felt endless.

But that’s where things started to shift again.

The Hidden Cost of Moving Too Fast

What looked like momentum on the outside started to feel like chaos on the inside.

Ideas were coming faster than I could act on them. Every direction felt like the right one—and that made it harder to choose.

At the same time, my personal life was shifting rapidly.

I went through a breakup, left a home I had built stability in, and moved into a completely new environment.

That level of change doesn’t just affect your schedule—it affects your nervous system.

And eventually, mine hit a limit.

What I thought was a loss of motivation was actually overload.

When your brain is forced to process too much uncertainty, change, and decision-making at once, it doesn’t push harder—it slows you down. Focus disappears. Energy drops. Even simple tasks start to feel overwhelming.

It’s not laziness. It’s protection.

Why Too Many Ideas Can Keep You Stuck

One of the biggest things I didn’t understand at the time:

Too many options can be just as paralyzing as not enough.

When every path looks like it could work, the pressure to choose the “right” one increases. That hesitation creates inaction—and inaction kills momentum.

That’s exactly where I found myself.

Not because I lacked vision—but because I had too much of it, all at once.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Everything changed when I simplified.

I stopped trying to do everything—and started focusing on what actually mattered.

I invested time into learning. I became more intentional with my decisions. I chose clarity over chaos.

And that’s when progress started to feel sustainable again.

The Truth About Why I Wasn’t Growing

For a long time, I relied on people around me to support what I was building.

Friends. Family. My local network.

But the truth is:

Most people are focused on their own lives—and they’re not going to go out of their way to support yours.

And that’s okay.

What I should have done sooner was leverage the internet.

I didn’t understand marketing. I didn’t expand beyond one platform. I didn’t take the time to learn.

And that lack of knowledge held me back more than anything else.

The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything

Fear controlled more of my decisions than I realized.

Fear of being judged.
Fear of being seen.
Fear of not being taken seriously.

Then one realization changed everything:

I only truly care about the opinions of a small number of people in my life.

So why was I letting everyone else hold me back?

After that, I stopped hiding.

I started showing up as myself—fully and unapologetically.

Stop Waiting—Start Moving

If you’re waiting for the perfect time to start something—this is it.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You just need to begin.

Because clarity doesn’t come from thinking.

It comes from doing.

What I’d Do Differently

If I could start over, I would:

  • Focus on one path at a time
  • Learn marketing early
  • Create a clear, simple plan
  • Stop relying on local validation
  • Take action before I feel ready

Final Thoughts

For a long time, I thought I was behind.

But now I see it differently.

I was learning.

Every mistake, every pivot, every failure—it all led me here.

And now, I’m building something that actually feels aligned.

If you take anything from this, let it be this:

If you work for it, it will work for you.

And most importantly—

Speak what you seek until you see what you said.
