My Favorite Day of the Week
Sunday has always been my favorite day of the week because I love nothing more than a fresh start.
A new week. A new beginning. Another opportunity to do it bigger, better, and more intentionally than before.
Realistically, every day is a chance to become a better version of yourself, but Sunday feels official to me. It’s my master reset.
What makes Sunday special isn’t necessarily what I do—it’s the intention behind it.
It’s the one day each week that I give myself permission to slow down.
To rest.
To reflect.
To realign.
I have little rituals that make Sundays feel sacred.
On Saturdays, I throw something in the crockpot for what my family calls “Snack Around Sunday.” It means no cooking, no rushing, and no pressure. We spend the day grazing on finger foods—carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, crackers, meat, cheese, and whatever else sounds good.
The rest of the day is dedicated to whatever fills my cup.
Sometimes I sleep in.
Sometimes I wake up before sunrise and walk along the beach while the world is still quiet.
Sometimes I get lost in a good book or binge-watch a show that caught my attention.
Often times, I create. I write. I work on my blog. I make content. I pour into the things that make me feel most like myself.
Other times, I hit the the beach for a day of fun in the sun.
Whatever aligns my energy with the life I’m trying to create.
As the sun begins to set, so do I.
I take an everything shower. I slow down. I focus on self-care. I put on my cutest, most comfortable pajamas and spend the evening reflecting on the week behind me and preparing for the week ahead.
By the time my head hits the pillow, I feel refreshed, grounded, and ready for a new beginning.
And that’s what makes Sunday so special.
It’s not just a day of rest.
It’s a day of becoming.
This Sunday Feels Different
But this Sunday feels different.
Because this isn’t just another Sunday.
Tomorrow, I begin again.
A new city.
A new place to call home.
New opportunities.
New experiences.
A new version of me.
This chapter is dedicated to reinvention.
To becoming the highest version of myself.
To getting into alignment.
To creating the life that my children and I deserve.
And it all starts with one question:
Who am I?
Rediscovering Myself
After years of survival mode and living in a constant state of fight-or-flight, I am finally rediscovering myself—not for who I became through hardship, but for who I was always meant to be.
The other day, I came across a quote that stopped me in my tracks:
“I wish I could meet the version of me that trauma didn’t meet first.”
The truth is, that hurts.
I am incredibly proud of my strength, my resilience, and my ability to keep going when life gave me every reason to quit.
But I’d be lying if I said I never wonder.
Who would I be if I had this mindset at eighteen?
What opportunities would I have pursued?
How much sooner would I have believed in myself?
There are so many things I wish someone would have taught me when I was younger.
But I don’t live there anymore.
Looking Forward Instead of Looking Back
I’ve done enough reflecting.
Enough replaying old chapters.
Enough wondering, what if?
Now, I’m moving forward.
Because while I am immensely proud of myself, I also recognize that I spent years standing in my own way.
Time is valuable.
Priceless, actually.
And I wasted far too much of it doubting myself, waiting for permission, and staying in places I had already outgrown.
I refuse to waste any more.
The beautiful thing about life is that no matter how much time has passed, you can still choose differently.
You can still start over.
You can still become the person you’ve always wanted to be.
None of It Was Wasted
What I understand now is that success isn’t about finding the perfect opportunity.
It’s about becoming the person capable of recognizing the right opportunity when it arrives.
Every setback taught me something.
Every wrong turn taught me something.
Every failed attempt.
Every pivot.
Every season of uncertainty.
It all prepared me for where I am today.
None of it was wasted.
It was preparation.
It gave me perspective.
It gave me grit.
It gave me the courage to walk away from what no longer serves me and pursue what does.
The Woman I Am Becoming
The woman I am becoming wakes up every day with intention.
She is well put together and carries herself with confidence.
On the average day, her hair is pulled back into a sleek, curly ponytail.
She wears small gold hoops, a delicate pendant around her neck, and simple jewelry that sparkles in the sunlight.
Her skin is sun-kissed and glowing.
She is healthy.
She is happy.
She is aging gracefully and taking care of herself because she knows she deserves it.
She speaks slowly and intentionally.
She is soft-spoken and self-aware.
She thinks before she speaks.
She responds instead of reacts.
She chooses peace over chaos.
She is secure in who she is and no longer seeks validation from people who were never meant to determine her worth.
The Life I’m Creating
She wakes up in a beautiful home near the beach.
The morning light pours through the windows.
The air smells like salt and freedom.
Her mind is clear.
Her body is rested.
Her heart feels safe.
She is a successful entrepreneur and creative.
Openly Curated has grown into something bigger than she ever imagined.
Her businesses are thriving.
She earns a living doing work she genuinely loves.
She has passive income.
She creates.
She inspires.
She builds opportunities for others.
Her story becomes proof that a master reset and a fresh start can change everything.
Most importantly, she is actively doing the things she once only talked about doing.
The things she dreamed about.
The things she promised herself she would accomplish someday.
And she is proud.
Not because she became perfect.
But because she became consistent.
No Longer Waiting for Permission
The woman I am becoming is no longer waiting for permission.
She is no longer defined by survival mode, past mistakes, missed opportunities, or the things that happened to her.
She is defined by the choices she makes from this point forward.
She protects her peace.
She keeps her promises to herself.
She creates more than she consumes.
She moves with purpose.
She knows where she’s going.
And for the first time in a very long time, so do I.
The End of an Era
Tomorrow, I wake up in a new city.
Tomorrow, I begin writing a new chapter.
Tomorrow, I stop introducing myself as the woman I was and start becoming the woman I’ve envisioned for years.
This is the end of an era.
Not because something ended.
Because something finally began.
Here’s to the woman I am becoming.
Here’s to the life my children and I are building together.
Here’s to choosing growth over comfort, faith over fear, and action over hesitation.
